Welcome to the Caribbean!
Charms of the Caribbean beckon from
dozens of islands dotting azure seas with their Dutch, French and Spanish heritage, from A (Anguilla,
Antigua & Barbuda, and Aruba) on down the alphabet to T (Trinidad & Tobago and the Turks & Caicos).
Among tourism strongholds are The Bahamas, where Nassau, home to more than half of the Bahamian population,
casts a spell, mixing the native pleasures of its straw market with glittering casinos and adventure on
adjacent Paradise Island. St. Thomas, busiest of the three U.S. Virgin Islands, buzzes with fabulous
shopping in Charlotte Amalie, offering lush green hills and sandy shorelines for more secluded pleasures.
Jamaica, land of rum and reggae, does bustling business in its capital Kingston, with laid-back revelry in
the tourism strongholds of Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico, combines the charm of
Old Town with modern amenities of what has become a sprawling metropolis filled with resort delights.
Founded in 1498, the Dominican Republic capital of Santo Domingo has the distinction of being the oldest
colonial city in the Americas, on an island blessed with lush mountains and seductive beaches in places
like Puerto Plata.
